The short version: ErgPulse does not collect, store or share any data about you.
The ErgPulse app
- Heart rate. While you row, ErgPulse receives your heart rate from Apple Health and sends it over Bluetooth to your Concept2 PM5 monitor. It keeps only the latest reading in memory, and the reading is gone when you tap Stop or close the app. Nothing is written to Health, saved on your phone or sent over the internet.
- Apple Health. ErgPulse asks to start workouts and to read heart rate because iOS only delivers live AirPods heart rate to an app that is running a workout. ErgPulse discards each workout when you stop. It never saves workouts or other data to Health.
- On your phone. The only thing ErgPulse remembers is whether you chose light or dark mode. That setting stays on your phone.
- Bluetooth. ErgPulse uses Bluetooth only to appear to your PM5 as a heart rate monitor.
- No accounts, analytics, ads or tracking. ErgPulse has no sign-in and no analytics or advertising code, and it never connects to the internet.
